Tom Brady recruiting Bill Belichick to coach Raiders in ‘recent’ conversation

As it turns out, Tom Brady and Bill Belichick's relationship hasn't deteriorated.

Despite his former coach's shock move to North Carolina, the former Patriots quarterback, who is now a minority owner of the Raiders, “recently” told Belichick about a reunion in Las Vegas. NFL Network reported Wednesday.

The two reportedly spoke before the firing of first-year coach Antonio Pierce was finalized on Tuesday.

Brady wanted to know what it would take for Belichick to take the Raiders' job.

The paper added that “multiple NFL teams” have asked Belichick, who surprised the football world last month by accepting the Tar Heels job, whether he would return to the pros.

Brady, 47, and Belichick, 72, won six Super Bowls with the Patriots over 20 seasons, but there was reportedly tension between the two, leading to Brady being traded to the Buccaneers.

Brady won the Super Bowl in his first season in Tampa, but Belichick struggled in four seasons without his longtime quarterback, making the playoffs only once before parting ways with New England last year.

There was little interest in Belichick during last year's coaching cycle. He only interviewed with the Falcons, who hired Raheem Morris.

Belichick has since taken on some media duties ahead of the 2024 season, but many believe he will return to the NFL and break Don Shula's record for career wins as a manager with 14 wins. I believed he would try.

But with NFL interest uncertain, Belichick only took the UNC job after reaching out to the Jets about the vacancy following Robert Saleh's midseason firing, the Post's Brian Costello reported last month. Ta.

His contract provides for a $10 million buyout if he leaves by June 1 of this year, but the buyout drops to $1 million after that.
