Patriots Return to Super Bowl, Brady’s Perspective
The New England Patriots are making a return to the Super Bowl for the first time since the era of Tom Brady, which is quite a remarkable shift for a team that only managed to win four games in the two years leading up to 2025.
While Brady was the face of the franchise for 20 years, he’s now a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders and works as an announcer for Fox Sports during the season. So, the question arises: Is he still cheering for the Patriots?
Brady recently shared his thoughts on the “Let’s Go” podcast, stating, “There are no dogs in this fight. May the best team win.” It’s a neutral stance, you could say, but he had nothing but good things to say about his former teammate, Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel, and his efforts in revamping the team.
“This is a new chapter for New England, and I’m glad everyone has embraced the Mike Vrabel regime,” he commented. “All great players have worked hard to get the club to this position. We’ve been doing it for 20 years. There was a little bit of a hiatus, but the Patriots are back. It’s a very exciting time for everyone in New England.” It really feels like a turning point for the franchise.
Even though Brady’s loyalties may lie elsewhere now, it’s hard to picture him not being curious—like, it’s human nature—to see if his former team can snag a Super Bowl ring without him. He expressed disbelief at anyone thinking he wouldn’t want the Patriots to win, saying such ideas are simply “stupid.”
Some of his former teammates haven’t shied away from showing their loyalty as Super Bowl LX approaches, where the Patriots will face off against the Seattle Seahawks.
Brady is keen to see strong individual performances on the field. “People root for people and hope they perform well,” he noted. “Even if you are an anchor, you are kind when you are there.” The joy of football for him lies in good play and solid decision-making.
He’ll be part of the FOX Sports pregame coverage for Super Bowl LX in Santa Clara, although the game itself will be on NBC. It’s going to be interesting to see who takes the spotlight at Levi’s Stadium this Sunday. He’ll likely watch how the Seahawks’ offensive strategy unfolds, especially with their head coach situation being what it is.
The Seahawks’ offensive coordinator, Clint Kubiak, is expected to take over as head coach for the Raiders, marking an exciting offseason ahead for the team. With quarterback Fernando Mendoza projected to be the top pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, there’s a lot to look forward to.
