Tom Cotton ruins CNN anchor’s narrative about Trump when he points out inconvenient facts about Biden, Harris

Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) turned the tables on CNN host Caitlin Collins on Wednesday after she tried to corner him over comments made by former President Donald Trump earlier in the day.

At a National Association of Black Journalists event, President Trump fielded racist questions in a mostly hostile atmosphere. At one point, he appeared to question the racial origins of Vice President Kamala Harris, a remark that sparked further controversy.

“Four years ago, Joe Biden said, ‘If you don’t vote for me, you’re not black.’ Can you imagine a more insulting comment?”

But instead of questioning Cotton about Senate business, Collins essentially asked Cotton to answer on Trump’s behalf.

Unfortunately, Collins, an Arkansas Republican, was in no mood to play the identity politics game. Cotton said what really matters is “the [Harris] She identifies as a “San Francisco liberal” and has a “dangerous” track record as a vice president, presidential candidate, and state and local politician.

But that response didn’t seem enough for Collins, who repeatedly circled the interview back around to Trump’s comments.

But Cotton was clear on each occasion about the differences between Trump and Harris.

Finally Cotton could no longer bear it. Harris and Biden That complicates media coverage that claims Trump is a racist.

“All I’m saying is, when are you and the rest of the media going to demand that Kamala Harris answer questions in an unscripted format about what she has in mind for this country instead of continuing to focus on what Donald Trump said today,” Cotton said. “Four years ago, Joe Biden said, ‘If you don’t vote for him, you’re not black.’ Can you imagine a more insulting statement? Joe Biden is trying to judge the political views of an eighth of our people by the color of their skin.”

“Have you ever called on Kamala Harris to condemn his comments?” he asked.

At that moment, Collins cut Cotton off, interrupting him multiple times.

“But, Senator, here’s a question: You’re a Republican senator,” she said. “So I want to ask you about the Republican Party, the Republican candidate.”

“Kaitlan, have you asked Kamala Harris why she is willing to serve as vice president for a man she essentially calls a racist and a segregationist?” Cotton countered.

“Okay, sure,” Collins replied.

“Kaitlan, did you or any other members of the media ask Kamala Harris those questions?” Cotton continued.

Collins, The rating is the lowestdid not answer Cotton’s questions, instead simply imploring him to “trust you” because she had “covered the Biden-Harris Administration.”
