Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) on Wednesday announced legislation to curb pro-Hamas violence in the United States fueled by left-wing groups, Breitbart News exclusively reported.
The bill, called the Stop Anti-Terrorism Riots Now Act, would increase the maximum penalty for participating in a riot from five to 10 years, and would require at least one sentence for those who engage in or support acts of violence. The law provides for a mandatory sentence of 20 years in prison. Part of the riot.
“Extremist pro-Hamas mobs who commit crimes and commit violence should be subject to the full force of the law. No one has the right to support terrorism and commit violence. This bill will eliminate anti-Semitism. We need it to ensure that we reject it and hold pro-Hamas criminals accountable,” Cotton told Breitbart News.

Left-wing groups such as the People’s Forum have organized and encouraged riots, which often feature anti-Semitic rhetoric and violence.For example, last week, about 200 pro-Hamas rioters broken The doors to the campus theater at the University of California, Berkeley were closed, prompting the evacuation of Jewish students who had gathered to hear a lawyer and a former Israeli Defense Forces soldier.
According to the university’s student newspaper, protesters chanted “Long live the intifada” and “murderers on campus,” the Associated Press reported. A university spokesperson said four formal reports have been made to campus police, including allegations of assault involving anti-Semitic slurs, which are being investigated as hate crimes. Another victim was allegedly kicked and spat on. It was also suspected that he was injured when his battery died while trying to hold the door closed.
