Tom Cruise’s Commitment to Filmmaking
Tom Cruise has made it abundantly clear that he has no intention of retiring from Hollywood anytime soon.
In a recent interview with Hollywood Reporter, which aired on Sunday, the actor discussed his ongoing career as the “Mission: Impossible” series nears its conclusion.
When questioned about his earlier claim regarding filming “Mission Impossible” until the 1980s, Cruise responded, “I said I was actually going to make movies in the 80s. In fact, I’m going to make them into my 00s.”
The actor’s dedication to his craft and his enthusiasm for performing his own stunts certainly seem unwavering. “I will never stop. I will never stop acting, I will never stop doing dramas or comedy films—I’m just excited,” he shared with the Hollywood Reporter.
Per the outlet, Cruise recently premiered “Mission: Impossible – Final Calculation” at the Cannes Film Festival. The film had its debut in New York on Sunday night, and Cruise reflected on the future of the franchise during the interview.
While the film was initially dubbed the last for Cruise’s character, Ethan Hunt, speculation remains that he might return to the role. Addressing the rumors, he stated, “It’s the final! It’s not called the ‘final.’”
Looking back on nearly 30 years of the “Mission: Impossible” franchise, which began in 1996, Cruise remarked, “There were so many levels of reward for the filmmakers I’ve worked with, and the cultures we’ve engaged with.”
He continued, “All I’ve learned and I’m still learning about storytelling, life, leadership, personality, and filmmaking is exceptional. I feel incredibly fortunate to be able to make the films that I do. I truly love it.”
