Tom Pelissero Joins Netflix as NFL Insider
Almost a month after his departure from ESPN, Tom Pelissero has landed a new role. Netflix announced on Monday that he will join the platform as an NFL insider and sideline reporter for various league broadcasts throughout the upcoming year.
In addition to his reporting duties, Pelissero will also co-host “The Ringer NFL Show” and appear regularly on “The Bill Simmons Podcast,” both of which are available on Netflix.
In a celebratory post on X, Pelissero expressed his excitement, simply saying, “Let’s go.”
Before this new opportunity, he spent nine years at NFL Network before being let go during a recent round of layoffs, which was tied to a deal whereby ESPN acquired a 10 percent stake in NFL Network. Pelissero was among several prominent personalities, including Ryan Clark and Cam Newton, who were also affected by this decision.
During his tenure, he frequently appeared alongside Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo on “The Insiders.”
Reflecting on his time at NFL Network, Pelissero thanked viewers and colleagues for their support, sharing a heartfelt message that included a fun GIF of Jason Sudeikis as Ted Lasso.
Pelissero is set to make his Netflix debut during the Week 1 game in Melbourne, featuring the 49ers against the Rams. This marks the first regular season NFL game ever held in Australia.
Additionally, viewers can look forward to seeing him during this holiday season when Netflix broadcasts the Packers vs. Rams game on Thanksgiving Eve, along with a Christmas doubleheader featuring the Bears vs. Packers and the Broncos vs. Bills.
For his first week, Pelissero will be alongside a broadcast crew that includes Elle Duncan, Michael Irvin, Nick Foles, and Clay Matthews III, while Noah Eagle and Luke Cushley will provide commentary, with MJ Acosta-Ruiz serving as the sideline reporter.
