Tom Suozzi Claims He Overlooked Epstein Story as It Wasn't a ‘Major Concern’

Democratic Representative Tom Suozzi from New York acknowledged on Thursday that he didn’t pay much attention to the case of deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein during President Biden’s administration, stating it wasn’t a significant issue for him.

Speaking on “CNN Newsnight,” his comments followed former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s private deposition before the House Oversight Committee concerning Epstein. When Suozzi suggested that the committee’s efforts were more about political maneuvering than seeking justice, conservative radio host Jason Luntz questioned why he hadn’t voiced similar concerns previously during the Biden administration.

“Honestly, I didn’t follow this closely at all,” Suozzi admitted. “To me, it wasn’t a major issue.” Luntz and CNN’s Scott Jennings probed why Democrats suddenly appeared more invested in the matter.

“Let’s remember that the Epstein files were accessible during Biden’s administration. You were all there for four years!” exclaimed SiriusXM host Stephen A. Smith on “Straight Shooter with Stephen A.” in November. “Why didn’t anyone raise this as Democrats back then? What gives?”

Senator John Fetterman from Pennsylvania also expressed discontent over the lack of file releases during Biden’s presidency while speaking on “Morning Joe” in November. “It feels like we’ve been pondering this for four years. There are so many questions,” he commented.

This past January, the Department of Justice released over 3 million pages of documents related to Epstein, including correspondence he had with notable figures like former White House advisor Steve Bannon, Elon Musk, and several European officials.
