A lawyer for Tony Bobulinski, a former business partner of the Biden family, on Tuesday threatened to sue U.S. Rep. Dan Goldman, accusing the New York Democratic Party of defaming his client.

In a letter to Goldman, Bobulinski’s lawyer, Jesse Vinal, called the New York representative’s tweet “defamatory” and demanded that it be removed.

“Your statement that Mr. Bobulinski lied to federal investigators and Congress as if it were true is itself defamatory and unacceptable,” he added. “Furthermore, President Trump’s campaign has never paid Mr. Bobulinski’s legal fees. The congressman from New York’s 10th District made the post a day after Bobulinski testified before the House Oversight Committee as part of the Republican-led impeachment inquiry into President Biden’s alleged involvement in family business dealings.
