Tony DeAngelo offers to fight K’Andre Miller ‘anytime’ in heated Game 2 moment

Game 2 between the Rangers and Hurricanes at the Garden is getting more intense by the minute.

It’s been bad for a while since Igor Shesterkin was brought down by Andrei Svechnikov when the Rangers goaltender played the puck behind the net (the Blueshirts smacked the Hurricanes winger guarding the goaltender). Blood continued to come out.

In the second period, Carolina defenseman Tony DeAngelo, a former controversial Rangers blueliner, was caught on camera exchanging offensive words with K’Andre Miller.

“I’ll always fight,” DeAngelo told his former teammate during a line change on the bench.

Miller’s response to DeAngelo was inaudible.

But that wasn’t the beginning of the Hurricanes’ veteran defenseman’s next rant against Miller.

“Oh, yeah, you…” DeAngelo began before the audio cut out.

This may not be the first acrimonious exchange between the two, as rumors surfaced that DeAngelo withheld the puck for Miller’s first goal during the 2020-21 season as their relationship became strained.

The Rangers called the speculation “100 percent false” and “sad,” but DeAngelo’s difficult time with the organization ended soon after.

“As far as first-and-goal pucks being a problem, Candre didn’t even think it was a problem,” DeAngelo’s then-agent Ian Pulver told Larry Brooks of the Post. “His understanding was that the puck was with the training staff. It’s not right that he became part of this story.”

DeAngelo isn’t so happy now, as Vincent Trocheck scored on the man advantage in two overtimes to give the Rangers a 4-3 win in Game 2 and a 2-0 series lead. right.

Needless to say, this is unlikely to be the last heated moment between these two rivals.
