Fantasy Football Playoffs Update: Week 16 Insights
Welcome to Week 16, the second round of the Fantasy Football Playoffs! As the real NFL season reaches its climax, we fantasy players can definitely feel the excitement building. This has been a rather competitive season with no single team truly dominating, which means every win counts, especially as we gear up for the playoffs. So, heading into Week 17, it’s crucial that teams keep their starters in play.
Jaden Reed, Bears vs. Packers
Reed stepped up in the Packers’ offense last week, but his fantasy points didn’t quite reflect his performance. This week, though, he’s got a favorable matchup against the Bears, who have been pretty generous to wide receivers this season, allowing the fifth-most fantasy points.
Adams, on the other hand, is dealing with a hamstring issue and is considered week-to-week. He might not play during the Thursday night game against the Seahawks. While no wide receiver capitalized on his absence last week, tight end Colby Parkinson did step up nicely with a strong performance.
Odunze has been struggling with a stress fracture in his foot. The team had hoped to see him return in Week 14, but he re-aggravated it during warmups and missed games since then. There’s no clear timeline for when he might come back. If he’s sidelined, it could impact players like DJ Moore, Colston Loveland, and Luther Burden quite a bit.
Higgins has had a rough go with concussions, with one in Week 12 and another in Week 14, which kept him off the field last week. If he remains out, Mike Gesicki could certainly benefit for fantasy, while Ja’Marr Chase may see an increase in his target share.
Rondon, recovering from a PCL sprain in Week 11, has been out for four weeks but hasn’t been placed on IR. It appears he might have a shot at returning this week against the Cardinals, so be sure to keep an eye on practice updates.
Marvin Harrison Jr., Cardinals
Harrison was unable to participate last week due to a heel injury and hasn’t practiced yet this week, making his status questionable for the upcoming game.
Pearsall faced ankle and knee injuries last week and may be sidelined for an extended period. However, with a Monday showdown against the Colts, there might still be hope. After a solid performance last week where he caught 6 of 7 targets for 96 yards, it would be disappointing if this sets him back.
As for Burden, he has been dealing with an ankle injury but is expected to play on Saturday against the Packers. Although it looks likely he might not be in the lineup, if he’s out, Olamide Zakaius could see a significant increase in workload.
