The 2025 NFL season enters Week 12 tonight with a game featuring two AFC playoff hopefuls: the Buffalo Bills taking on the Houston Texans. The Bills are heading into this contest as a 5.5-point favorite, and the over/under is set at 43.5. Buffalo aims to stay competitive in the AFC East title chase against the Patriots, while the Texans seek their third consecutive victory despite being without quarterback C.J. Stroud.
Here’s a look at some of the top plays for DFS from this Thursday night matchup.
Josh Allen, QB, Buffalo Bills (FLEX $13,600, CPT $20,400)
Last Sunday, Allen was a scoring powerhouse against the Buccaneers, throwing for six touchdowns and leading the Bills to a 44-32 victory. The reigning MVP collected a season-high 47.68 fantasy points in that game, marking his fourth straight outing with at least 23 points and his first performance above 40 points since the season opener against the Ravens.
Facing the Texans’ defense might be tough on a short week, but Allen typically excels in these situations. He’s had an impressive 8-0 record on Thursday nights, boasting a completion percentage of 73.5, averaging 242.5 yards, and 2.3 touchdowns in those games. So, he seems well-positioned to shine tonight; I would definitely consider him for captain, even at that price.
Nico Collins, WR, Houston Texans (FLEX $12,400, CPT $18,600)
Despite the absence of C.J. Stroud, Collins has stepped up remarkably in recent weeks, being a significant contributor to the Texans’ offense. He had nine catches for 92 yards and a touchdown in a 16-13 win over the Titans last weekend, which was a nice rebound after amassing 136 yards against the Jaguars the week before.
Over the last four games, Collins has been targeted 46 times and has become a vital part of the team’s resurgence in the playoff race following a rough start to the year. Even against a solid Bills secondary, he should garner enough opportunities to merit a captain selection for DFS players.
Woody Marks, RB, Houston Texans (FLEX $10,400, CPT $15,600)
Marks has also taken advantage of his role as the starting running back after replacing Nick Chubb. The rookie running back has consistently received double-digit carries in six of the last seven games, racking up 32 attempts for 107 yards and one touchdown during Houston’s last two victories.
Tonight, he faces a Buffalo defense that has struggled against the run, ranking second-to-last in EPA per rush. The Bills have allowed the fourth-most rushing yards overall and the highest number of rushing touchdowns this season. Sean Tucker, the backup running back for the Bucs, recently exploited this weakness. Marks might find similar success.
Nick Chubb, RB, Houston Texans (FLEX $5,800, CPT $8,700)
Chubb might also show some promise in this primetime matchup, despite having fewer touches in recent games. While he’s been limited recently, there was a time when he consistently received double-digit carries. He typically scores about 6.5 fantasy points per game, but given the opponent, he could surpass that average without too much trouble.
Tyrell Shavers, WR, Buffalo Bills (FLEX $3,800, CPT $5,700)
Against the Bucs, Shavers had a noteworthy performance, catching four of five passes for 90 yards and a touchdown. Due to Keon Coleman being benched—after missing a team meeting—Shavers may see more opportunities in this game. He could be an intriguing and budget-friendly flex option for DFS players.
Ty Johnson, RB, Buffalo Bills (FLEX $3,400, CPT $5,100)
Johnson had a solid performance against the Bucs, finishing with nine rushing yards and a 61-yard catch on a single target. As a low-cost option, he might offer good value, particularly since he’s been getting a few touches each week in both the running and passing games.
