Top DFS selections for Chiefs versus Giants in Week 3

The NFL DFS season enters its third week, bringing us a Sunday Night Football match between the struggling Chiefs and Giants. Even with their disappointing records, the Chiefs are favored by 5.5 points on the road. Having lost to both the Chargers and the Eagles, they’re keen to avoid falling to 0-3 after their recent Super Bowl loss to the Eagles.

The Chiefs’ struggles have been exacerbated by injuries to their wide receivers. Rashee Rice is currently sidelined, and Xavier Worthy is also out with a shoulder injury. After those two, the team has few options left in the receiving game.

Next, we’ll explore some of the top DFS picks for this evening’s game.

Malik Nabers, WR, Giants (Flex $13,600, CPT $20,400)

Nabers commands the highest salary in this matchup, and it’s well-deserved. Russell Wilson realizes that targeting him presents a much higher chance of success. Nabers leads the league with 25 targets, including four in the red zone. Expect him to get plenty of looks in this game, as the Giants are 5.5-point underdogs at home.

Patrick Mahomes, QB, Chiefs (Flex $13,000, CPT $19,500)

If the game stays competitive, Mahomes will likely need to step up in an effort to clinch the win. He has been running the ball more than usual, which boosts his fantasy performance and limits opportunities for other players. In two games, he rushed 13 times for 132 yards and found the end zone twice. Despite only throwing for 445 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception, his rushing has kept him as a top QB in fantasy. The Giants have allowed a lot of passing yardage, so this game might provide an easier task for him.

Isiah Pacheco, RB, Chiefs (Flex $6,800, CPT $10,200)

Pacheco hasn’t yet scored this season and has lost some standing due to Kareem Hunt’s presence. His fantasy outlook seems a bit bleak, but this week might offer a slight spark. The Giants have been quite generous in giving up points to running backs, so there might be opportunities here. While the Chiefs may prefer to pass, they still need to establish their run game.

Noah Gray, TE, Chiefs (Flex $3,000, CPT $4,500)

Gray had five targets last week, although he only managed to secure one for just one yard. His increased playing time is encouraging, as he scored a touchdown last season and had a solid reception rate. With Travis Kelce not quite in form, Gray may find himself with more opportunities.

Tyquan Thornton, WR, Chiefs (Flex $5,000, CPT $7,500)

Thornton has seen a nice bump in usage, which helped him catch a long touchdown last week. His value on Fanduel is safe; it’s not as reliant on a PPR format as DraftKings is. Thornton is a big-play threat and, notably, had 60% of the team’s air yards last week.

Theo Johnson, TE, Giants (Flex $4,000, CPT $6,000)

If the odds play out as expected, Wilson will need to rely heavily on the pass. While Wan’dale Robinson is an option after his strong performance last week, his ownership is likely to be high. Darius Slayton could provide a deep threat, but his connection with Wilson might not be strong enough. For value, Johnson stands out. Despite facing a few difficult matchups, he had five catches for 34 yards last week, which could be pivotal against a Chiefs team that struggles against tight ends.
