The Bears and Packers will face off for the third time this season on Saturday night. While they split the regular season games, the Bears ultimately topped the NFC North, securing home field advantage against their long-standing rivals. Both teams have a solid understanding of each other’s play styles, and given how closely contested their previous games were, it’s likely that this matchup will be another nail-biter.
The Bears might see Roman Odunze return this weekend, which could shift the dynamics for those considering their DFS picks.
Here are some top DFS plays to consider in this wild-card showdown.
Caleb Williams, QB, Bears (FLEX $13,000, CPT $19,500)
The Bears tend to distribute the ball, especially if Odunze is back. It can be tricky to choose just one player from the Bears for the captain spot, so I’m opting for someone who can pass effectively. He might have a full roster of options this weekend, and given that they are the underdogs at home, expect the Packers to challenge him to both pass and run. Without Micah Parsons, he could see more playing time, which should help his performance. A rushing touchdown or two could be crucial for a solid showing. Playoff games often highlight a quarterback’s ability to run, and Williams likely won’t hesitate to take off.
Josh Jacobs, RB, Packers (FLEX $12,600, CPT $18,900)
Jacobs has been dealing with injuries but has taken some time to rest and seems ready for this game. The Packers aim to run the ball effectively against the Bears, so Jacobs could get a significant number of carries if everything goes well. Unlike the Bears, who have a more scattered approach, the Packers rely heavily on Jacobs to drive the play.
Christian Watson, WR, Packers (FLEX $11,000, CPT $16,500)
Watson has established himself as the Packers’ primary receiver since returning from his ACL injury. Although he missed seven games, he is right behind Romeo Doubs in fantasy scoring. He’s found the end zone six times in his last seven games, including twice against the Bears. If there’s one receiver to consider for the Packers captain slot, it’s probably Watson.
Jaden Reed, WR, Packers (FLEX $5,800, CPT $8,700)
Reed seems to be in good form for this matchup, even though he hasn’t fully found his rhythm since returning from injury. That might actually work to his advantage based on FanDuel pricing, so I’m inclined to include him in most rosters for this game.
Jerde Walker, WR, Bears (FLEX $3,000, CPT $5,400)
Walker seems to be stepping up in Odunze’s absence and appears to have moved ahead of Olamide Zaccheaus on the depth chart. If Odunze plays, I see Walker as a budget-friendly pick. He managed to score against the Packers previously, and Caleb Williams often looks his way when he’s on the field.
Luke Musgrave, TE, Packers (FLEX $3,000, CPT $5,400)
Musgrave might not be a standout like Tucker Craft, but he’s still managed to be a valuable pick. He’s caught seven of nine targets for a total of 90 yards over the past two games. It’s a nice option to have him for only $3,000 on FanDuel.
