Experts debate whether NFL Draft prospect Travis Hunter should be deployed as a full-time offensive or defensive player, but the former Colorado star sees himself as a two-way player.
“We had some meetings at the receiver. We had some meetings at the db. So we're still in the air.” Hunter answered Questions in NFL Scouting include questions about playing important snaps on professional offense and defense.
“They say, 'No one has done it, the truth, how I do it,' and I say to them, 'I just don't.' ”

Hunter played wide receivers and cornerbacks for Jackson and Colorado states with head coach Dion Sanders. Hunter is predicted to be a top-10 draft pick, but it remains unclear whether the team that selected him will primarily consider him a one-way player.
Will the two-way star Travis Hunter be able to play both ways in the NFL?
Hunter excels on both sides of the ball in the college ranks, playing over 700 snaps on offense and defense. He was named winner of the 2024 Heisman Trophy in December.
“I have a lot of treatment,” Hunter added Thursday. “People can't see that part. I'm doing what I do to make sure I make sure each game for my body. I feel like no one is doing it. I know I can do it. I did it at the university level where you really take a break.

He finished last season with a career-high 1,258 receiving yards, with four intercepts being praised as a defensive back. These numbers helped Hunter win the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year honors. He was also a recipient of the Fred Biletnikov Award as the top college football receiver of the season.
Hunter hasn't been to the drills at this week's Combine, but he confirmed he's interviewed the team.

Two-way NFL players were unusual. Chuck Bednarik was the league's last full-time two-way athlete. Bednarik was a Philadelphia Eagles linebacker and offensive lineman from 1949-62.
Sammy Beau and Don Hutson are also well-known former two-way stars. Bo was a quarterback, defensive back and punter. Huston spent his entire NFL career with the Green Bay Packers, playing receivers and safety. He later had a stint as an assistant coach for the Packers.
