Exemption Wire Watch: Week 4
It’s that time again—the fourth week of exemption wire watching!
As we head into the weekend, the first month of the 2025 NFL season is officially in the books. Whether you’re celebrating a Fantasy League win or, well, facing a tough loss, many will be looking to boost their rosters before next week. That’s why we’re here.
If you’re in need of a kicker, now might be a good time to browse the exemption wire. Interestingly, about 40% of the league consists of players considered top talents.
Teams on Bye in Week 5
- Atlanta Falcons
- Chicago Bears
- Green Bay Packers
- Pittsburgh Steelers
Spencer Schludder, K, Indianapolis Colts (28.8%)
Schludder is currently the top fantasy kicker this season, playing a vital role in keeping Indianapolis competitive during a 27-20 loss against the Los Angeles Rams last Sunday. He nailed both field goal and extra-point attempts, though his 10 fantasy points were actually the lowest he’s had all season.
The Colts boast the best NFL success rate on offense at 50%, so Schludder’s role is crucial as long as he can keep the team moving. Plus, playing in a controlled environment like Lucas Oil Stadium certainly helps. This week, he’s set to face the Raiders, and there are still quality kickers available on exemption wires across many leagues, so now’s the time to grab him!
Upcoming Match Up
vs. Las Vegas Raiders, 1pm
Jason Myers, K, Seattle Seahawks (4.6%)
The Seahawks really needed Myers to step it up in their 23-20 win over the Arizona Cardinals last Thursday night. He connected on three of four field goal attempts and added two successful extra points. His 52-yard kick clinched the victory just as time expired.
With 14 fantasy points this past week, he’s shown he can consistently deliver—this marks his second straight game hitting double digits. As Seattle navigates through the competitive NFC West race, expect Myers to remain a key player in their future success.
Upcoming Match Up
vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 4:05pm
Matt Gay, K, Washington Commanders (20.2%)
Gay had a busy day in Washington’s 34-27 loss to the Atlanta Falcons last Sunday, successfully completing four field goal attempts along with an extra point, scoring 18 fantasy points—the best he’s had this season. His performance was a nice turnaround after a few missteps in previous games, suggesting he’s back on track for fantasy contenders.
Notably, all seven of his field goals this season have come from over 40 yards, and he’s one of only two kickers with this distinction. With Washington facing another indoor game in LA this week, he could have the chance to follow up with a longer field goal.
Upcoming Match Up
@ Los Angeles Chargers, 4:25pm
