Welcome to Week 7 of Waiver Wire Watch!
The NFL weekend games are nearly upon us, and it’s hard to believe we’re already a third of the way through the 2025 regular season. Two games remain for Monday night, but it’s definitely not too soon to start thinking about how to improve your roster for the upcoming week.
Here are some standout performers from Week 6 that you might want to keep an eye on as you scan the waiver wire for Week 7. Plus, as always, we consider players who are on rosters in less than 60% of leagues as potential additions.
Teams on bye in Week 7: Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills
Jackson Dart, QB, New York Giants (12.2%)
Dart has brought a breath of fresh air to the Giants as their new starting quarterback. He really showcased his talent in a decisive 34-17 win over the Eagles, passing for 195 yards and rushing for 58 yards with two touchdowns. Surprisingly, he’s already among the top 10 quarterbacks with 167 rushing yards. His mobility and ability to make plays can definitely make him a compelling fantasy option.
As the season progresses and injuries start to stack up, having a promising rookie like Dart on your roster might not be a bad strategy.
Week 7 matchup: @ Denver Broncos, 4:05 PM ET.
Sam Darnold, QB, Seattle Seahawks (27.4%)
Darnold performed well following his intense matchup with Baker Mayfield, guiding the Seahawks to a 20-12 victory over the Jaguars. He threw for 295 yards and two touchdowns, achieving an impressive 10.9 yards per attempt. With a passer rating of 121.7, he was a top performer for two weeks running.
Despite being a top-10 fantasy QB this season, he often goes overlooked on the waiver wire. If you’re uncertain about your quarterback situation, it’s worth picking him up—no harm in having some insurance.
Week 7 matchup: vs. Houston Texans, 10 PM ET (Monday night)
Kimani Vidal, RB, Los Angeles Chargers (32.6%)
With Omarion Hampton sidelined, Vidal stepped up significantly in the Chargers’ 29-27 win against the Dolphins. The second-year player recorded 142 rushing yards at an impressive 6.9 yards per carry, adding a receiving touchdown in the process. His performance placed him among the top 10 fantasy options across all formats.
Given that Hampton is likely to be out for an extended period, Vidal could be set as the starting running back for a while. You might want to act quickly to snag him off the waiver wire.
Week 7 matchup: vs. Indianapolis Colts, 4:05 PM ET
Bam Knight, RB, Arizona Cardinals (0.8%)
The Cardinals are in a tough spot, having lost four straight games, including a 31-27 defeat against the Colts. With both James Conner and Trey Benson out, Knight stepped up, finishing with 34 rushing yards, 20 receiving yards, and a touchdown. He’s available if you need some running back depth; he could be a solid pickup.
Week 7 matchup: vs. Green Bay Packers, 4:25 PM ET
Kayshon Boutte, WR, New England Patriots (6.5%)
Boutte has become notable as Drake Maye’s receiver, especially after his strong performance in the Patriots’ 25-19 win over the Saints. With five receptions for 93 yards and two touchdowns, he finished among the top three fantasy wideouts this week. His performance echoed his breakout showing against the Raiders earlier in the season.
He and veteran Stefon Diggs could form a potent duo, enhancing Maye’s chances for success. Boutte might be a name to watch as the season unfolds, so now’s a good time to grab him.
Week 7 matchup: @ Tennessee Titans, 1 PM ET.
Kendrick Bourne, WR, San Francisco 49ers (22.8%)
Despite injuries affecting the 49ers, some players are stepping into key roles, including Bourne. He excelled in the 30-19 loss to the Buccaneers, achieving 142 receiving yards for the second week in a row, boasting an average of 28.4 yards per catch—highest among wideouts with at least five receptions this week.
Whether it’s Mac Jones or Brock Purdy at quarterback next week, they’ll have a reliable target in Bourne. It would be worth considering bringing him onto your roster.
Week 7 matchup: vs. Atlanta Falcons, 8:20 PM ET
Orondo Gadsden II, TE, Los Angeles Chargers (1.8%)
Gadsden also had a notable impact in the win against the Dolphins, with a career-best performance, catching seven of eight targets for 68 yards. The Chargers’ tight ends weren’t heavily involved before this week, but Gadsden’s showing might suggest a shift in their offensive strategy.
If you’re in the market for another tight end, considering Gadsden now could prove wise as his value may rise.
AJ Varner, TE, Seattle Seahawks (19.4%)
Varner continues his quest to establish himself as a top fantasy tight end. He contributed again in Seattle’s victory over Jacksonville, recording three receptions for 71 yards. While he didn’t score a touchdown this time, he remains a valuable asset for Darnold.
Despite his consistent performance, he’s still available on many waiver wires, creating an opportunity for savvy players to pick him up.
