Top fantasy football waiver wire adds for Week 14

Hello! We’re diving into Week 14 of Waiver Wire Watch.

With Thanksgiving behind us and December upon us, most leagues are wrapping up their regular seasons. The Fantasy Football Playoffs begin next week, and while we still have Monday night’s game between the Giants and Patriots, it’s a good idea to start bolstering your roster in preparation for the postseason.

Let’s check out some key players to consider picking up off the waiver wire ahead of Week 14. Just a note: we classify exempt additions as players active in no more than 60% of leagues. This week, by the way, marks the last wave of league-wide byes, so keep an eye on player availability.

Week 14 Bye: Carolina Panthers, New England Patriots, New York Giants, San Francisco 49ers

Trevor Lawrence, QB, Jacksonville Jaguars (44.5%)

Lawrence and the Jaguars took down the Titans 25-3 on Sunday, marking their third consecutive win and propelling them into first place in the AFC South. The former No. 1 pick delivered one of his best performances of the season, passing for 229 yards and two touchdowns, plus adding 25 rushing yards.

He’s currently one of the few top-15 fantasy QBs still available, with a promising matchup against a Colts team struggling at home this season. If you’re after a reliable QB to potentially net around 20 fantasy points, Lawrence is a solid pick.

Week 14 matchups: vs. Indianapolis Colts, 1 p.m. ET

Jacoby Brissett, QB, Arizona Cardinals (38.0%)

The Cardinals fell 20-17 to the Buccaneers on Sunday, ending any playoff hopes. That said, I think Brissett’s performance still stands out. Although he did have some slip-ups, he was one of only two QBs to surpass 300 passing yards that week, completing two touchdowns and one interception in the loss.

Having now topped 20 points in fantasy four times this season, Brissett has filled in for Kyler Murray for most of the year, and with Murray still sidelined, he might continue as the starter for the remainder of the season.

Week 14 matchups: vs. Los Angeles Rams, 4:25 p.m. ET

Kyle Monangai, RB, Chicago Bears (59.7%)

The Bears pulled off a 24-15 victory against the Eagles on Black Friday, which, combined with a Rams loss, pushed them to the top of the NFC standings. D’Andre Swift managed 125 rushing yards and a touchdown while Monangai contributed 130 yards and a score, showcasing a strong ground game against last year’s Super Bowl champions. The rookie has become a formidable asset, averaging 4.9 yards per carry.

Since Monangai has crossed the 60% exemption mark, if you spot him available, don’t hesitate to place a bid.

Week 14 matchups: @ Green Bay Packers, 4:25 p.m. ET.

Blake Corum, RB, Los Angeles Rams (16.6%)

With Kyren Williams nursing an ankle injury, Corum had a breakout performance during the Rams’ unexpected 31-28 loss to the Panthers. In just his second year since leaving Michigan, he delivered a standout game with seven carries for 81 yards and a touchdown.

Corum is increasingly becoming a more consistent player, achieving 10 or more carries in three of his last four outings. While Williams is expected to recover for next week, if you need added depth at RB, give Corum a look.

Week 14 matchups: @ Arizona Cardinals, 4:25 p.m. ET

Christian Watson, WR, Green Bay Packers (36.8%)

On Thanksgiving Day, the Packers edged the Lions 31-24, with Dontaevion Wicks and Christian Watson stepping up impressively. Watson had a strong outing with four catches for 80 yards and a touchdown, finishing as one of the top 15 fantasy wideouts.

He’s becoming a reliable big-play threat for Jordan Love, ranking in the top 15 for both ADOT and yards per route among receivers with significant playing time this season. It’s wise to grab him ahead of the anticipated game against the Bears.

Week 14 matchups: vs. Chicago Bears, 4:25 p.m. ET

Alec Pierce, WR, Indianapolis Colts (40.7%)

The Colts endured a 20-16 defeat against the Texans, a setback in their quest for the AFC South title. Despite the loss, wide receiver Alec Pierce had a decent performance, leading the team with a touchdown and catching four passes for 81 yards.

Pearce’s explosive ability shines through; he leads the league with an average of 20.9 yards per catch. They’ll be counting on him to deliver in the upcoming match against the Jaguars.

Week 14 matchups: @ Jacksonville Jaguars 1:00 p.m. ET

Brenton Strange, TE, Jacksonville Jaguars (28.3%)

Strange has become a valuable contributor for the Jaguars since returning from IR, playing a key role in their victory over the Titans. He caught three passes for 45 yards and snagged his first touchdown of the season, building on a solid return performance from the prior week.

The Jaguars seem to be in a good place as their offense continues to gel, making Strange someone to consider as you head into the fantasy playoffs.

Week 14 matchups: vs. Indianapolis Colts, 1 p.m. ET

Isaiah Likely, TE, Baltimore Ravens (17.9%)

Likely had what might be considered his best game during the Ravens’ 32-14 loss to the Bengals, making five catches for 95 yards. I guess “best” is subjective, since he did have an unfortunate miscue near the goal line that cost the team a touchdown opportunity.

Nevertheless, his recent performance has been promising, and the team will be looking for him to step up in the crucial matchup against the Steelers this Sunday.
