Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger (Republican) is again trying to set the record straight.

Wednesday, CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins Against Democrat Stacey Abrams Regarding her comments about the 2018 Georgia gubernatorial election, Abrams told supporters that she had actually “won” the election despite losing to current Governor Brian Kemp (Republican), and refused to concede defeat. Even the claim The race was “stolen.”

“Stacey Abrams’ recent comments indicate she still cannot accept her loss in 2018.”

Collins asked Abrams if she “regrets” her past allegations, an innocent question that clearly irritated Abrams.

The twice-failed gubernatorial candidate scolded Collins, telling her to “go back to grade school,” and argued that she did not challenge the results of the 2018 election itself, but rather “the process that was used,” and that “the court agreed with us.”

Collins and Abrams In his own words — Abrams quickly interjected, cutting Collins off.

“Well, I remember when you told the New York Times, ‘I won,’ you described it as a fraudulent election. The courts sided with Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger,” Collins said before being interrupted.

“Caitlan, that’s actually false,” Abrams interjected. “Normally, I wouldn’t interrupt you, but you’re repeating disinformation.”

Abrams 2022 Court Rulings Her claim was dismissed The judge actually ruled in her favor. She accused Collins of reading only the “headlines” and not the “fine print.”

Raffensperger’s response

Is Abrams telling the truth? Is Collins guilty of spreading “disinformation”? No, according to Raffensperger.

“I have spent much of my time in office holding failed candidates like Stacey Abrams accountable to the voters of Georgia,” he said. Said “Stacey Abrams’ recent comments demonstrate that she has yet to accept that she lost in 2018, and the fact that she still cannot accept that means she is unfit to be on television speaking in defense of democracy,” the statement said.

Raffensperger added that the truth is that Abrams “lost fair and square under the established rules of the game.”

“She spent over $50 million raised from donors to show that the rules were unfair to her, but all of her arguments were soundly defeated,” he explained.

“She lost not on any technical issues, as she now asserts, but because the evidence did not support her claims, even after obtaining millions of documents and taking hundreds of depositions,” he wrote. “She had ample opportunities to prove her claim of ‘systematic voter suppression,’ but she was unable to do so because her claims were little more than cheap political talking points.”

Raffensperger accused Abrams of using “flowery rhetoric about protecting voting rights” to hide the fact that “she’s just an election denier.”

“She wants everyone to forget that her group repeatedly called the 2018 election a ‘stolen election,’ and continued to refer to Gov. Kemp as Gov. Kemp for months after he was lawfully elected and sworn in,” Raffensperger continued. “But Abrams and Fair Fight did both. They should be ashamed.”

“The only thing she should say on television is that she lost the 2018 election fair and square and apologizes for not acknowledging that fact after the election,” he said.
