Top Hegseth adviser escorted out of Pentagon as part of probe into Houthi text leak

Advisor to Defense Secretary Pete Hegses was escorted by the Pentagon as part of an investigation into leaks in military operations against the Hooty Terrorist Group.

Dan Caldwell, a Marine Corps veteran deployed in Iraq, was placed on administrative leave over “fraudulent disclosure,” according to US officials. I spoke Reuters.

Caldwell was included in the Atlantic-publicized text chain, among Department of Defense officials and others who were planning military attacks. The text conversation was accidentally leaked when one of the text participants included outlet editor Jeffrey Goldberg.

Hegseth’s Chief of Staff Joe Kasper called for an investigation into the embarrassing leak of the memo signed on March 21.

“We can confirm that Reuters’ report is accurate, but we have not commented on the ongoing investigation,” an official told Griffin.

Critics of the administration pointed out that sensitive, categorized information should not be sent via unsecured applications such as those used by the Houthi Strike group.

White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt denied the leaking war plans and continued his attack on Goldberg.

“Jeffrey Goldberg is famous for his sensational spins. Here are the facts about his latest story,” said Levitt at the time.
