4th Week Exemption Wire Watch
It’s time for the fourth week exemption wire watch! What a weekend it was across the NFL. Special teams really made a difference in several games. Whether you’re celebrating a Fantasy League victory or lamenting a loss, it’s likely you’re on the lookout to strengthen your roster before the next week. That’s where we come in.
Let’s take a look at some quarterbacks whose performances stood out in week three. This might help you find those last-minute exemption opportunities before week four. Generally, exemptions include players who are free agents in about 60% of leagues. Keep that in mind, as this is the final week before all teams make their picks.
Daniel Jones, QB, Indianapolis Colts (30%)
Daniel Jones of the Colts is looking good as the team maintains a 3-0 record at the top of the AFC South, following a decisive 41-20 win over the Titans. The veteran quarterback threw for 228 yards, going 18 of 25, with one touchdown. It was a great day for the Colts, eased by Jonathan Taylor’s impressive three-touchdown performance.
Jones was the second-highest fantasy QB, racking up 68.1 points by the end of Sunday. Even his most optimistic fans didn’t foresee such a strong start to the season. He remains a viable option on the exemption wire and could be helpful for those in need of a quarterback.
Week 4 matchup: @Los Angeles Rams, 4:05pm
Genosmith, QB, Las Vegas Raiders (30%)
Genosmith showcased some skills despite the Raiders suffering a 41-24 defeat to the Washington Commanders. He put up 26.1 fantasy points with 289 yards and three touchdowns, bouncing back from his previous three interceptions.
The Raiders still seem to be figuring things out, especially with some ongoing issues on the offensive line. However, Smith appears to be a decent option, especially for those interested in adding him to their team.
Week 4 matchup: vs. Chicago Bears, 4:25pm
Aaron Rodgers, QB, Pittsburgh Steelers (24.3%)
Aaron Rodgers led the Steelers to a 21-14 win against the New England Patriots, throwing a game-winning touchdown pass to Calvin Austin III with just 2:16 to go. His stats weren’t exceptional—139 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions—but he propelled his team to victory.
Rodgers averages 16.9 fantasy points per game, tied with Smith and sitting 14th in the league. If you’re in need of quarterback depth, he’s a reasonable choice at this point.
Week 4 matchup: vs. Minnesota Vikings, 9:30am (Ireland)
Matthew Stafford, QB, Los Angeles Rams (31.4%)
Matthew Stafford experienced a tough finish against the Philadelphia Eagles, narrowly missing a last-second field goal that could have changed the game. Still, he had a solid outing, throwing for 196 yards with two touchdowns and one interception.
In the first three weeks of the season, Stafford averaged 15.6 fantasy points per game, ranking eighth in total passing yards with 739. With an average release time of 2.44 seconds, he’s a solid backup option for anyone looking for QB depth.
