Welcome to Week 7 of Waiver Wire Watch!
It’s hard to believe, but we’re already one-third through the 2025 NFL regular season. This weekend brought some games, and while there weren’t many standout performances from the lesser-known running backs, it’s still worth diving into the waiver wire. You never know what hidden gems you might find.
Here are a few players from Week 6 who might be worth picking up before Week 7 rolls around. Just a reminder, we consider exempt additions to be players owned in up to 60% of fantasy leagues.
Teams on bye in Week 7: Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills
Kimani Vidal, RB, Los Angeles Chargers (33.4%)
The Chargers managed without Omarion Hampton during their 29-27 victory over the Dolphins, thanks to Vidal’s solid performance. This second-year player, who returned from Troy, really stepped up, racking up 142 rushing yards on an impressive 6.9 yards per carry and also scoring a receiving touchdown in the third quarter. His performance placed him among the top 10 fantasy players of the week.
With Hampton on injured reserve and likely facing four or more games out, it seems Vidal could solidify his role as the starter for some time. So, it might be a good idea to place a waiver bid before he’s snapped up.
Week 7 matchup: vs. Indianapolis Colts, 4:05 p.m. ET
Bam Knight, RB, Arizona Cardinals (9.3%)
Things aren’t looking great for the Cardinals, having lost to the Colts 31-27 this past Sunday, marking their fourth consecutive defeat. Both James Conner and Trey Benson weren’t available, which opened the door for Knight. Despite the team’s struggles, the fourth-year back contributed well, gathering 34 rushing yards, 20 receiving yards, and a touchdown from 11 attempts. If you need some running back depth, he could be a worthwhile addition right away.
Week 7 matchup: vs. Green Bay Packers, 4:25 p.m. ET
Sean Tucker, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6.8%)
The Buccaneers are dealing with several injuries, making their backup lineup crucial. Tucker had a chance to shine in their 30-19 win over the 49ers. With Rashard White filling in for the injured Bucky Irving, Tucker had six carries for 25 yards and a touchdown. With Irving ruled out for the upcoming Monday game against Detroit, Tucker might find himself with a significant workload again.
Week 7 matchup: @ Detroit Lions, 7 p.m. ET (Monday night)
Tyjay Spears, RB, Tennessee Titans (33.7%)
Spears has now played in two games after coming off injured reserve and was actively involved in the Titans’ 20-10 loss to the Raiders. He outperformed starter Tony Pollard, totaling 31 rushing yards on five carries and 19 receiving yards on four receptions. The struggling Titans might consider increasing Spears’ usage to shake things up a bit on offense. He’s definitely one to keep an eye on.
Week 7 matchup: vs. New England Patriots, 1 p.m. ET
