New court filings in Fulton County, Georgia, allege an “inappropriate” romantic relationship between the top prosecutor in Donald Trump's election interference case and District Attorney Fani Willis, who accused the former president. .
According to the filing, Willis hired a partner, special counsel Nathan Wade, to prosecute Trump and used funds his law firm received to handle the case to help the two men. He reportedly benefited financially from the relationship in the form of lavish vacations.
According to county records, Mr. Wade has been paid about $654,000 in legal fees since January 2022, an amount the district attorney (in this case Mr. Willis) approved.

The motion was filed on behalf of former Trump campaign official Michael Roman, a co-defendant in the case, seeking to dismiss the charges against him.
The newspaper cited “a source close to both the special prosecutor and the district attorney” who confirmed that “the two had an ongoing personal relationship.”
The application also asks that the entire district attorney's office, including Willis and Wade, be disqualified from prosecuting the case.
