Tori Kelly Announces Pregnancy
Grammy Award-winning artist Tori Kelly recently shared the joyous news that she and her husband, Andre Murillo, are expecting their first child, which she affectionately refers to as a “gift from God.” In a conversation with People Magazine, Kelly expressed her excitement about starting a family during what she describes as a momentous year.
“This year is already so full of amazing moments. I’ve been performing in stadiums all summer and writing some deeply personal songs. Now, on top of that, I’m excited to begin a family with my wonderful husband,” said Kelly, 32, who is currently on tour in Europe with Ed Sheeran.
<p”We are incredibly grateful for this new chapter and can’t wait to welcome this little gift from God,” she added.
<pKelly also shared a video montage showing her and Murillo at home and enjoying time at the beach together. The video includes a soundtrack snippet from her upcoming project, where she sings about love and companionship: “You are the only one who runs this path with me. As we get closer, you make it feel like home.”
<pThe lyrics continue: “And there’s no one here but you and me. We’ve gone through it all together, checking off every test. I’m ready for what comes next.”
<pKelly and Murillo, a former basketball player, began their relationship in 2016 and got married two years later in a private ceremony. As someone who openly embraces her Christian faith, Kelly has previously discussed how important her relationship with God is to her life and work.
<p”Anyone who knows me, knows that my faith is an integral part of who I am,” she shared. “I can’t separate what I do from my faith in God. It’s not something I have to force; it just naturally comes out,” she added.
<pIn 2018, Kelly won a Grammy Award for Best Gospel Performance/Song for her work on the album Hiding Place, which featured renowned worship artist Kirk Franklin. Her most recent album, Tori, was released last year. However, she faced a serious health scare in July 2023 due to a life-threatening blood clot.
