Tori Spelling shares her thoughts on co-parenting with Dean McDermott.

Tori Spelling recently shared her appreciation for the co-parenting dynamics she has with her ex-husband, Dean McDermott, shortly after their divorce was finalized.

“I’ve seen other families go through some really tough scenarios, but in the end, you created your family out of love,” the “Beverly Hills, 90210” star noted at a Friday event, where she expressed feeling “very grateful” for their amicable relationship.

“We still care deeply for one another. It’s funny, since I often read horror stories about divorce, but I wasn’t prepared for how smooth this one would be. Everyone expected it to be chaotic, but it wasn’t. It was easy and full of love,” she added.

Spelling, who is 52, and McDermott, 59, share five children: Liam, 18, Stella, 17, Hattie, 14, Finn, 13, and Beau, 8.

While attending the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball in Los Angeles, she emphasized that their family bond persists despite the separation. “It’s great for the kids since we have family dinners and spend time together,” she remarked.

The couple announced their separation in June 2023 after 17 years together, and Spelling filed for divorce nine months later.

Although their divorce was finalized last month—revealing they have substantial tax debt—there were moments of tension, like when Spelling was seen upset during a conversation with McDermott. Despite these instances, she clarified that their breakup was peaceful. “Honestly, I have to say this—it was one of the easiest divorces in Hollywood,” she declared on her podcast last month.

Spelling continued, “Could you please quote me on that? It was really straightforward. Hollywood can be a mess, but not in this case.” In fact, they have remained so close that Spelling mentioned how hard it is for her to drop their affectionate nicknames, admitting, “For 20 years, I’ve called him ‘baby,’ and it’s just tough to switch that off.”
