Bulls forward Torrey Craig must have thought he was playing in the NBA Slam Dunk Contest instead of a regular-season game against the Knicks with playoff implications.
With the Knicks trailing 36-27 early in the second quarter on Tuesday night in Chicago, Craig got the ball in the open court and did more than just a regular dunk. Rather than lay in, he decided to throw the ball off the glass. He knocked it down himself and missed the jam.

Veteran Andre Drummond was behind him and may have thought the pass was sent to him, but he couldn’t bail out Craig or convert.
It was an embarrassing moment for the Bulls and coach Billy Donovan. He probably wasn’t thrilled about Showboat’s failure.
That ugly blunder didn’t determine the outcome of Tuesday’s game, which the Knicks won 128-117, but it’s almost certainly a moment Craig will probably want to forget.
