
A 1-year-old Minnesota boy has tragically died after falling from a third-floor hotel room window in South Dakota, his family announced.
Madden Hein died at a hospital from his injuries Monday, two days after jumping from the Clubhouse Hotel & Suites in Sioux Falls, his parents Katherine and Alex Hein announced Tuesday.
“We are so sad to announce that our sweet baby boy Madden earned his angel wings late April 15th,” the couple wrote in a Facebook post. “We miss him so much and are having a hard time processing all of this.”
The Hines also revealed that Madden is considering organ donation. His organs will help many other people. Our little son is a real superhero. ”
Police are investigating Madden’s death, said Officer Sam Clemens, a spokesman for the Sioux Falls Police Department. told the Minneapolis Star Tribune. “There is nothing that would lead us to believe it was anything other than a tragic accident.”
A crowd of about 250 people joined Madden’s parents Wednesday outside Sanford Children’s Hospital, where the toddler was scheduled to undergo organ donation surgery. Kero reported.
Madden’s father, Alex Hine, is a middle school social studies teacher and high school basketball coach. His mother, Kathryn Hine, is a kindergarten teacher and helps coach volleyball.
The couple also have a 3-year-old daughter and are expecting another child in August, the Star Tribune reported.
A GoFundMe campaign for the family has raised more than $69,000 as of Thursday.
