Exciting New App for Parents

There’s something new on the scene!

A recently launched AI-driven app allows parents to actually feel their baby’s heartbeat through gentle vibrations on their phones. It’s a pretty unique concept that, while it might sound a bit sci-fi, actually gives parents a chance to connect with their unborn child at their convenience.

Trellis Health has introduced this intriguing “heartbeat feature,” which CEO and co-founder Estelle Giraud believes offers a significant emotional connection for families. She mentioned that traditional methods only provide fleeting opportunities to bond during clinical visits or sonogram sessions.

According to Giraud, “Experiencing a baby’s real heartbeat in sync with gentle vibrations creates an intimate bond that enhances the pregnancy journey. This is especially impactful in the early months when physical signs aren’t as noticeable.”

It seems that the feature also serves to alleviate some anxiety for parents during doctor’s visits, as it provides an added sense of reassurance. How? Well, doctors can send ultrasounds directly to the app for parents to access.

Jiro, another voice from the team, noted how the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. “Families feel more connected, and being able to hold and sense their baby’s heartbeat has made a considerable difference in their journey.” People have shared experiences ranging from tearful joy to feeling closer to the pregnancy in unexpected ways.

One feature they love is a “tactile loop” of the fetal heart rate, which records it directly from the ultrasound. Users tap the heart icon to start, and it continues until they decide to stop. Giraud did clarify that while mid-pregnancy ultrasounds may not report the heartbeat every time, this doesn’t necessarily mean everything is wrong. There can still be a heartbeat present.

The app, which rolled out on May 20th, costs around $96 for a yearly subscription. It comes from a Seattle-based health tech startup that aims to bridge some evident gaps in women’s health, like high maternal mortality rates and often fragmented postpartum care.

In short, recent users of this new Heartbeat feature have found it quite touching. Jiro mentioned, “The response has been incredibly moving.” Many parents are feeling like this is a crucial moment in their journey.

“We’ve heard it all,” they said. From “I cried the first time I felt it,” to recounting how much closer this experience has brought them to the pregnancy. It’s a new chapter in how families interact with pregnancy—one that’s clearly striking a chord.
