Christian philosopher René Girard once suggested that we face two kinds of evil. One is the far-right evil we have named “Satan,” and the other is the far-left evil we have named “Antichrist.”
The idea is that Lucifer was openly prideful and power-hungry. The Nazis were possessed by a Luciferian spirit.
But the far left is more subtle. That evil is also influenced by Satan, but it is more deceptive because it tries to pretend to be more Christian than Christianity. It is the Antichrist who uses Christ's teachings, such as love for the individual, care for the marginalized, and justice for the oppressed, to deny the person of Christ and the saving message of the gospel. Because we are trying to correct these problems while doing so.
The Apostle John wrote of this type of teacher: “They went out from us, but were not of us” (1 John 2:19). and the Son” (1 John 2:22).
The conceit of the far left is to accept Biblical values and moral intuitions while denying any connection to Christ Himself.
These antichrist doctrines give us mercy without sin, judgment without forgiveness, and love without salvation.
This reveals that behind these movements is not just a demonic power grab, but a movement that functions more effectively in a society heavily influenced by Christian ideals. Concepts like compassion, empathy, and love have been separated from the gospel, truth, and the rest of the Bible and are actually being used as weapons against those who follow Jesus.
These antichrist doctrines give us mercy without sin, judgment without forgiveness, and love without salvation. They seek to achieve justice through injustice, overcome racism through racist acts, and enforce equality through the unequal application of the law.
John was the last apostle to write the New Testament, and he saw that the greatest threat to the church came not from those who taught the antithesis of Christ, but from those who distorted the message of Christ. Even in his day, he warned that “many antichrists have come” (1 John 2:18).
That is why Christianity is successful in Asia and Africa because of its power to defeat its demonic strongholds, while the Western Church has not learned to defeat the spirit of the Antichrist. And we're seeing it shrinking in the West.
One example I have personally seen is how many churches are afraid to teach Biblical truths about families. This is because it may make people who are experiencing family breakdown feel uncomfortable. This is empathy weaponized against truth.
Many churches want to become hospitals for the hurting people, ignoring our call to train disciples. It's like a country deciding not to teach reading out of compassion for the visually impaired. This is not Christ, this is Antichrist.
Yes, we need compassion and sympathy for those who are suffering, but we cannot fall prey to the antichrist's strategy of using kindness to shame us for speaking the truth. there is no.
The Antichrist is expanding in the West, dividing entire families, churches, and denominations.
So when you hear Christian leaders hiding the clear teachings of the Bible out of harmful compassion, they say, “This is the spirit of the Antichrist, of which you have heard, and what is to come.'' and it already exists in this world.” Little children, you are of God and have overcome them. For greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world” (1 John 4:3-4).
