Trader Joe's expands its 'Opening Soon' list: Which cities will get new stores?

Trader Joe’s Expansion Plans Announced

Trader Joe’s is set to bring its unique vibe to several new cities in the upcoming months.

The grocery chain currently has 34 locations listed as “Open soon,” which includes a few that have been added since the last update in July.

While many of these upcoming stores are expected to open in just a few months, others, particularly in states like California, Connecticut, Washington, DC, Florida, New York, South Carolina, and Texas, could take anywhere from three to six months. Are you hoping a store will be coming closer to your neighborhood? Trader Joe’s executives have mentioned that new locations are chosen based on several factors like population density, customer traffic, and available parking.

There’s also a search for retail spaces that would be a great fit for the brand, as shared by Marketing Executives Tara Miller and Matt Sloan.

“We have to look at a huge number of potential sites to make sure we get the best possible site,” Sloan explained.
