Trader Joe's recalls certain bottles of imported minerals about the possibility that glass containers would be crushed.
The recall affects bottles of Gerolsteiner Sparkling Natural Mineral Water, an imported German mineral water.
According to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the bottles were sold for around $3 per pop.
In an announcement on March 12, the grocery chain said certain lot codes of the product “may be cracked/damaged bottles.”
Affected products have lot codes with lot number 11/28/2024 L or 11/27/2024 L.
“This issue has been identified by studies related to bottle breakage during production and could affect 1% of bottles in the lot code above,” Chain explained.
“If you have bottles with either lot code, don't use them. We recommend that you dispose of them carefully and ask Trader Joe for a full refund.”
Trader Joe said no injuries, including bottles, have yet to be reported.
The recall affects a total of 61,500 units per CPSC.
CPSC encouraged consumers to “quickly stop using recalled Gerolsteiner Sparkling Water bottles and return the bottles from the affected lots to the store they purchased for a full refund.”

“Consumers will not be asked for proof of purchase, but they will need to receive a refund (in the form of cash or credit),” the announcement states.
The latest Trader Joe recall comes a month after the chain recalls the frozen organic acai bowl on February 14th.
At the time, the chain said “the product may contain foreign materials (plastics)” and urged customers to either dispose of them or return the product to the store.
