White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said the entire story of President Biden declaring Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024, “Transgender Visibility Day” is “misinformation.”
“For those who understand the calendar and how it works, Easter falls on a different Sunday every year, and this year it just so happens to coincide with Transgender Visibility Day,” Karine Jean-Pierre begins, sharing the story. Describing the whole thing as “misinformation,” she claimed it was done “deliberately.”
“As a Christian who celebrates Easter with my family, President Biden stands to unite people and protect the dignity and freedoms of all Americans,” Jean-Pierre declared, adding that Biden’s critics are “cruel and hateful.” “They are trying to divide and weaken our country in their own way.” And the disingenuous rhetoric we’ve heard over the past 24 hours. ”

You might think she was referring to the countless conservatives who accused Biden of devaluing Easter in exchange for a made-up “Transgender Visibility Day.” For example, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana) said at the time: “Declaring Easter Sunday ‘Transgender Day’ while simultaneously banning sacred truths and traditions is outrageous and abhorrent.” Stated.
“The American people are watching,” he warned.
The Biden White House has betrayed the central tenet of Easter: the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

“What I heard over the weekend is not true,” Jean-Pierre said, continuing to use the word “misinformation.”
“And this misinformation that’s out there is just…it’s bad,” she added, noting that the made-up day, Transgender Visibility Day, is March 31st, which happens to coincide with Easter this year. I repeated the same thing.

Jean-Pierre did not point out that Biden issued the proclamation on Good Friday. Good Friday is the day Christians around the world remember the crucifixion of the Son of God, Jesus of Nazareth, and his world-changing declaration, “It is finished.”
In a proclamation released that day, Biden celebrated “Transgender Visibility Day” and further reminded everyone that Easter Sunday, March 31st, is also “Transgender Visibility Day.” I confirmed that it was.
Emphasis added:
therefore, I, Joseph R. Biden, Jr., President of the United States, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim March 31, 2024, as Transgender Visibility Day. I call on all Americans to join us in elevating the lives and voices of transgender people across our country and working toward ending violence and discrimination based on gender identity.
Biden and his allies made sure to highlight the day, one of more than 50 LGBTQIA2S+ days throughout the year, throughout Easter Sunday. On this day, Christians celebrate Jesus’ victory over death, making possible His perfect sacrifice and reconciliation with God. revival:
On Transgender Visibility Day, we celebrate the joy, strength, and absolute courage of some of the bravest people I know.

As transgender Americans continue to face hate and harassment, it is more important than ever to stand by the trans community.
On Trans Visibility Day, and every day, let us reaffirm our commitment to uplift trans people and ensure a future free of discrimination.

Transgender Day of Visibility celebrates transgender and nonbinary Americans. Their courage has inspired countless others, but no one has to be brave enough to be themselves.

Bizarrely, on Monday, Biden was reported to have denied declaring this year’s Easter Sunday as Transgender Visibility Day, despite a proclamation saying he had done just that. His jab at Speaker Johnson was met with a jab back by the Republican chair.
Asked about declaring Easter Sunday a “day of visibility,” Biden said, “I’m not doing that,” and was asked about House Speaker Johnson’s claims to the contrary. “He has no idea,” he replied.
