Allegations Surrounding Former NCAA Volleyball Player
Braden “Blair” Fleming, a former NCAA volleyball player, has finally addressed serious allegations made by a coach. This development comes after initial reports from Blaze News, which highlighted that San Jose State University (SJSU) had the best start in their volleyball history by adding 6’1″ male athletes to the women’s team.
This situation escalated when opposing teams protested during a game against SJSU.
“Blair gets what Blair wants.”
In a surprising turn, SJSU Associate Volleyball Coach Melissa Bati Smooth was suspended indefinitely following her remarks. After filing a Title IX complaint against SJSU, claiming that a male athlete had conspired against his own teammates, Bati Smooth is now involved in a lawsuit against the California State University System, which includes SJSU and 22 other California institutions.
According to reports, the lawsuit claims that SJSU retaliated against Bati Smooth for her suspension.
Meanwhile, the former coach expressed to Fox News Digital that Fleming had received preferential treatment and described instances where she watched him “eat during practice.”
Fleming responded to these allegations, insisting that, apart from times when he was injured, he attended practices without excuses. “Brooks Russer and Melissa need to get a life,” he remarked.
Fleming’s former teammate, Slusser, is also part of the class action lawsuit against the NCAA. She has indicated feeling pressured to share a room with Fleming, particularly after moving in with a trans athlete on the team.
Bati Smooth alleged that Fleming wasn’t publicly recognized as a man until after she accepted a coaching position at SJSU, claiming she had been instructed not to inform others about this situation.
Defending his decision, Head Coach Todd Cress has wholeheartedly supported Fleming’s inclusion in the team and criticized other teams for what he perceives as efforts to undermine the girls he coaches.
