Travis and Jason Kelce address Aaron Donald speculation on New Heights

Travis Kelce Takes a Jab at Aaron Donald’s Possible Return

On Thursday, December 3rd, Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs are set to face off against Matthew Stafford and the Rams at SoFi Stadium.

However, Kelce has expressed a desire to see one fewer standout on the field.

Discussing rumors about Aaron Donald’s potential comeback on the New Heights podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother Jason, Travis echoed his concerns. “They can’t do that, right?” he repeated.

Immediately jumping in, Jason, a former Eagles center who has clashed with Donald during his career, joked, “That’s cheating. Roger (Goodell) is going to have to step in. If I was still playing O-line in the league, I’d start a petition. No, that’s not allowed. What are we doing here?”

Travis, though he seemed unsure about the effectiveness of his idea, mentioned he had a plan to keep Donald off the field. “I’m starting a GoFundMe, which is, like, not allowed,” he said with a chuckle. “We don’t even know what they’re raising money for, but we’re going to stop this.”

The thought of pairing Donald, a three-time Defensive Player of the Year, with Myles Garrett, the reigning Defensive Player of the Year, is quite intimidating for opposing offenses. Recently, the Rams made a surprising trade for Garrett, sending promising young player Jared Verse along with three picks to the Browns.

This scenario is already pretty daunting for opposing quarterbacks, but if you add in the rest of the Rams’ defensive lineup—Coby Turner, Poona Ford, Brandon Fisk, and Byron Young—things could become even murkier.

“The rest of the D-line is not a bunch of slouches,” Kelce noted. “They have some really good players.”

As for Donald’s future, it remains to be seen what will happen. But one thing is clear: at least one Super Bowl champion isn’t thrilled about going up against a stacked Rams defense.
