Jason Kelce said his brother, Travis Kelce, the Chiefs star tight end, isn’t fazed by Taylor Swift’s superstardom.
The former Eagles center spoke on the “Whiskey Ginger with Andrew Santino” podcast on Friday about his thoughts on his brother’s exponential rise in popularity since he began dating Swift in the fall.
“I haven’t seen him change one bit,” Jason says. “I take that as a compliment. He’s stayed true to himself. He’s still as humble as ever and treats everyone equally with the utmost respect, no matter who they are.”
Travis and Swift have been mainstays in the sports and entertainment world since going public with their relationship last year, especially when Swift attended her first Chiefs game to support her then-rumored boyfriend.
Their relationship was anything but ordinary; Swift was in the middle of the first US show of her Eras Tour when she and Travis met.
Swift continued to cheer on Travis from her suite throughout football season.
Swift arrived just in time to travel from her Hellas Tour show in Tokyo to watch Travis perform at the 2024 Super Bowl in Las Vegas.
Meanwhile, Kelsey has appeared at many of Swift’s concerts around the world.
“I think Trav is someone who is very comfortable in any situation. He’s very unique. I’ve never seen him uncomfortable,” Jason continued on the podcast.
Still, Jason admits it’s nearly impossible for his brother to remain a “normal person” while dating a superstar.
“[My wife] “Kylie and I will just hang out with one of them because things have gone bad,” he said. “This is a whole other situation. … I mean, you can’t be a normal person at that point.”
The comments came shortly after Kelsey’s wife was verbally abused by fans and got into an argument after refusing to be photographed.
“I can smell alcohol on your breath,” the mother of three told a fan. “How embarrassing!”
The woman, later identified as Andre Goldberg, has since apologized for her “out of character” behavior.
“New Heights” podcast co-host Jason said that while everyone in the Kelsey family has “evolved” due to his brother’s high-profile romance, their essence remains the same.
