Travis Hunter Welcomes New Addition to His Family

Just ten days before what’s likely to be his NFL debut, Travis Hunter is ecstatic about an important milestone in his personal life.

The rookie from the Jaguars, along with his wife Leena Renee, recently shared the joyous news of their first child’s arrival—a baby boy, announced on Wednesday.

Hunter took to YouTube to reveal this exciting news in a video titled “Dear Son…” Earlier this year, Leena had mentioned in a note that she envisioned their baby as a boy.

In the announcement video, Hunter sported a fresh Jacksonville Jaguars cap, a nod to his recent draft selection at the end of April.

“You’re going to come, you’ll be like me and get drafted by Jacksonville,” he said, flashed a big smile as he expressed his hopes for his son’s future.

Interestingly, the video concluded with a blank screen that seemed to capture the sounds from the moment of the child’s birth.

This year has been an eventful one for Hunter, who was selected second overall by the Jaguars after a trade involving the Browns during the draft. Before this, he had earned recognition as an Heisman Trophy winner while playing at Colorado, and he tied the knot with Leena at a Tennessee ceremony in late May.

As Hunter gears up for his first regular NFL season, he is set to continue playing both as a receiver and a defensive back.

General manager James Gladstone assured reporters that there’s been no change in this plan. “We hope he’ll be someone who impacts both sides of the football. I can’t wait to see him play on Sundays and Mondays this season,” he expressed with excitement.

Despite missing the last couple of preseason games due to an upper body injury, Gladstone is optimistic about Hunter’s participation in the upcoming game against the Panthers on September 7th. “He’s out on the field today and is moving at full speed,” he shared.
