Travis Hunter of the Jaguars states he and Shedeur Sanders from the Browns are ready for the NFL.

For the first time in four years, Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders won’t be teammates when the football season kicks off. They had been anticipating the Cleveland Browns calling Sanders’ name in the fifth round of the NFL draft.

Now, both are eager to impact their franchises as they step into their rookie seasons, and there’s quite a spotlight on them. Hunter has caught the attention of GM James Gladstone, who expressed high hopes for Hunter to become a generational talent, possibly aiming for a Hall of Fame career.

On the other hand, Sanders faces a competitive environment as he navigates a quarterback competition that includes players like Joe Fraco, Kenny Pickett, and Oregon’s Dillon Gabriel, who were drafted just a round earlier.

Hunter mentioned that he has spoken with Sanders after the draft. He believes that both of them are set to begin their NFL journeys strong. He expressed his excitement about partnering with Panini America, which will hold special significance as he receives his first rookie trading card at the NFLPA rookie premiere in Los Angeles.

“We’re just going to work, man,” Hunter said, highlighting the determination both he and Sanders share despite any pressures or doubts. Hunter is making a mark during rookie minicamps, exceeding expectations that the Jaguars had for him. Tony Boseli, the vice president of football operations for the Jaguars, acknowledged Hunter’s impressive athleticism and the potential he sees in him.

As Hunter adjusts to the NFL, he’s also mindful of the leadership responsibilities that come with being a high draft pick. With veteran players like Trevor Lawrence and Travon Walker in the locker room, he feels they can all contribute positively if they focus on their roles.

Hunter reflected on his early experience with the Jaguars positively and looks forward to progressing further in the upcoming training camps. He also noted the excitement of finally seeing himself on an NFL trading card, a milestone that he considers a blessing.

“I’m pumped to see my card, it’s definitely special,” he remarked. As for the future value of his rookie card? Well, that depends on how his career unfolds, and he’s well aware of that responsibility.
