Travis Hunter currently holds the key to the 2025 NFL Draft.
Hunter appears to be the big winner after Titans president of football operations Chad Brinker on Wednesday cited a refusal to “pass on generational talent” with the No. 1 pick in the 2025 draft.
On Wednesday, bettors listened and slammed Hunter to go No. 1 overall, as BetMGM Sportsbook's odds on Hunter rose from +1500 to +150.
“The movement in the odds for Travis Hunter to be the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft shows how unique this betting market is,” BetMGM trading manager Christian Cipollini told the Post. “Odds and actions change based on just a few words. Since the (Wednesday) comments by Titans executives, we've seen big bets placed on Hunter.”
ESPN BET has also seen an explosion of interest in betting on Hunter, with odds increasing from +1500 to +150, but Ward is now -105.
“We're seeing increased interest in betting on the No. 1 overall pick as team needs and new hires come into focus,” said Adrian Horton, director of North American sports trading at ESPN BET. told. “The movement in the last 24 hours has been primarily on Travis Hunter, with about 60% of bets and handles going on him, and we have changed our odds accordingly.”
The top three teams selected – Titans (1st), Browns (2nd) and Giants (3rd) – are expected to place emphasis on quarterback, with Hunter's Colorado teammate Shedur Sanders (+450) is also expected to be selected near the top of the draft.
Stud Penn State pass rusher Abdul Carter also rose from 12/1 to +600 at BetMGM.

Brinker's not-so-subtle hint provides an interesting hint about what he called a “pivotal moment for this team.”
ESPN's Mel Kiper called Hunter “the best player in this draft,” and predicted the Cleveland Browns would select him with the No. 2 overall pick in the latest draft.
Kiper's latest mock draft had the Titans selecting Miami quarterback Cam Ward, but that was before Brinker commented on generational talent.
ESPN reporter Adam Schefter added that the Titans' recent comments are bad news for the Patriots, who had hoped to take either Hunter or Carter with the No. 4 overall pick.

“It's either a Penn State defensive lineman or a Colorado wide receiver/cornerback,” Schefter said in an interview about the Titans' projected pick. New England radio station WEEI. “That quote told me they weren't set on getting a quarterback in the first round. That's not what New England wanted to hear today.”
