Travis Kelce was furious after his brother Jason joked about Taylor Swift’s “rookie year” as the Kansas City Chiefs headed to Super Bowl III.
“Let’s also give a shout out to Taylor Swift, the newest member of the Chiefs dynasty who officially made it to the Super Bowl in her rookie year,” Jason, 36, said Wednesday on the Brothers podcast “New Heights.”
“Shout out to Tay,” Travis, 34, laughed while blushing (Taylor version).
“Thank you for joining the team,” he thanked his girlfriend, whom he has been dating since the summer.
Travis also admitted on Wednesday: he won’t participate Grammy-winning “Antihero” singer Sunday, he’s preparing for the Super Bowl on Feb. 11.
“I wish I could have been there to cheer Taylor on at the Grammys and see her win all the awards she was nominated for, but I think I practiced on Sunday,” he said. He spoke on “The Pat McAfee Show.”
“Unfortunately, we have to get ready for this big Super Bowl that’s coming up in a week.”
Swift resumes her “Ellas Tour” in Tokyo on February 7th, but is scheduled to arrive in Las Vegas for Sunday’s Super Bowl to watch Kelce play against the San Francisco 49ers.
“That’s a beautiful thing,” Kelce told McAfee. in loveadded that he and Swift are “just two people in a relationship who support each other and enjoy it.”
Her private plane and Las Vegas are 17 hours later than Tokyo, so she should have no trouble getting to the match venue.
If the Chiefs win on Sunday, it will be Kelce’s third Super Bowl win. Additionally, some fans are putting their money where their mouth is on whether or not he will mention Swift in his MVP speech.
The Grammy Awards will be broadcast live from Los Angeles on Sunday at 8pm EST on CBS.
Super Bowl LVIII kicks off on February 11th at 6:30pm ET on CBS.
