The families of two girls who were shot at the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory parade in Kansas City, Missouri on Wednesday launched a GoFundMe page and received a large donation from one of their local favorites.
Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce donated $100,000 to the Reyes family, whose two daughters are in the hospital recovering from gunshot wounds.
Kelce’s donation was made in the name of his charity, Eighty-Seven & Running.

The girls, ages 10 and 8, were also visited by Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany earlier this week.
“On behalf of the Reyes family, we sincerely thank you for the outpouring of love, support, and prayers during this difficult time. He is recovering physically and mentally,” the statement said. said the family.
“I am happy to share with you that my daughters, ages 8 and 10, are recovering well from their leg injuries. Both girls were shot in the leg, underwent surgery, and have been in the hospital for several months now. They are in casts. “They will have to endure follow-up doctor visits for the next few years. They are undergoing physical therapy to regain strength and mobility. We are relieved by their progress. However, the healing continues for all of us. The girls were celebrating with many of their families at the time. “They were senselessly hurt. Our family and other families. We ask that you continue to keep those affected in your thoughts and prayers.”
