It’s no secret that Travis Kelce wants to win the 2024 Super Bowl more than ever, and his speech at the Chiefs on Saturday night seemed to indicate that.
The Chiefs’ star tight end addressed his teammates at the team hotel along with Patrick Mahomes and Chris Jones at the behest of head coach Andy Reid.
While Mahomes and Jones’ comments inspired the team, it was Kelce’s speech that brought some of his teammates to tears. According to NFL Network’s Albert Breer.
In fact, NFL insiders also reported that people in the room called his comments “incredible” and “powerful.”
CBS’ Tracy Wolfson shared more details about what happened during a team meeting at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on the eve of the 2024 Super Bowl.
“I also heard that Travis Kelce hit it from out of the park,” Wolfson said. “His speech was powerful and impactful. I didn’t see a dry eye in the house and I knew this team was fully prepared.”
According to CBS, Wolfson added: “It was like a WWE speech. It was the best, most emotional team meeting I’ve had in years.”
Sunday’s Super Bowl against the 49ers will be Kelce and the Chiefs’ fourth “big game” appearance in the last five years, and a win would give them a memorable third ring.
Sunday’s win is top of mind for the Chiefs tight end, who has become one of the biggest names in sports for his play on the field and his relationship with global superstar Taylor Swift.
NFL Network’s James Palmer said: Three Chiefs coaches described Kelce’s message as “the best speech I’ve ever seen a player give in front of his team,” and one coach told Kelce, “Just talking about that speech gives me chills.” “I will,” he said.
Palmer reported that Kelsey was emotional from the beginning and people were wondering if he would be able to do it all.
“A switch was flipped and that emotion turned into a fire,” Palmer said. “He excitedly walked up and down the aisles between all his teammates, talking about the fire alarms that have been getting so much attention this week, how we needed them in the first place, heading into this game. We were talking about how we were prepared.”

During last Monday’s Super Bowl 2024 opener, Kelsey joked that she needed to catch up with Swift, who has won 14 Grammys.
“I told her she had to hold out for the bargain and take home the hardware,” Kelce said.
