Travis Kelce is well aware of his highly publicized action-packed weekend in New York City with girlfriend Taylor Swift.
Wednesday “New Heights” Podcast The Chiefs tight end, who co-hosted with his brother Jason Kelce, joked about his appearance at Arthur Ashe Stadium on Sunday, where he and the pop superstar were in a packed stadium and openly affectionate during Jannik Sinner's U.S. Open win over Taylor Fritz.
“Super low-key, super low-key, nothing much,” Travis, 34, said in Jason's introduction to the show, informing listeners they'd be covering the three-time Super Bowl champion's “low-key Sunday” at the U.S. Open.
After kicking off his 12th NFL season with a 27-20 win over the Ravens at Arrowhead Stadium last Thursday with Swift in attendance, Travis flew to the East Coast the next day with the 14-time Grammy Award winner for a date night. Starry Night Wedding.
Swift and Travis then traveled to Flushing on Sunday to watch the men's singles final with Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany.
The four were seen having fun inside the box, with Swift and Travis, who began dating last year, dancing and kissing throughout their afternoon out.
“It was my first time, well, second time going to a tennis match, at least a professional tennis match,” Travis said on Wednesday's episode of “New Heights.”
“… I looked left, I looked right and every time I saw a familiar face. There were so many people there to watch the matches, especially the final match, because they knew there was an American named Taylor Fritz playing in the U.S. Open. Unfortunately he didn't win, but it was still fun to watch two of the best players in the game go at it for a few hours.”
Fritz, playing in his first Grand Slam final, lost 6-3, 6-4, 7-5 to Italy's Sinner.
Travis spoke about the quiet atmosphere in the room and how he resisted the urge to yell abuse at Sinner.
“I dressed like the character, I acted like the character and I was very quiet except for the breaks when the music was playing,” the three-time Super Bowl champion said, “and that's when I really let my personality show.”
It was a rare fall Sunday of freedom for Kelsey.
The Chiefs will play at Arrowhead on Sunday at 4:25 p.m. against the Bengals, who suffered a surprising loss in their home opener to the rebuilding Patriots last week.
It remains to be seen whether Swift will attend.
She's currently on a hiatus from her hit Eras tour, which is due to resume in North America next month after a summer run in Europe.
