Kansas City Chiefs Prepare in Brazil

Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce took a moment to get back at teammate Patrick Mahomes during a press event in Brazil on Friday. This playful exchange came just after they kicked off their 2025 season with a game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

During their media session in São Paulo, Mahomes spoke about how they had been preparing over the summer. “We’ve been planning all summer, and now we’re ready to play football again,” he said, emphasizing their excitement as the season begins.

Kelce shared his observations about the enthusiastic Chiefs fans they encountered on the streets. He jokingly mimicked Mahomes’s voice, adding a light-hearted note to the conversation. “Yeah, it was crazy. It was so much fun seeing all the fans there,” Kelce remarked, clearly enjoying the moment. Mahomes responded with a laugh, “Be calm!”

Kelce explained that he enjoyed poking fun at Mahomes, stating, “He’s now telling everyone that he doesn’t know where Brazil was. It’s an exciting time. You’re hanging around with everyone on the team. This is something we all remember.”

Both players acknowledge the grind of the NFL season and the importance of humor amidst the hard work. The Chiefs are gearing up to face their AFC West rivals, the Chargers, under head coach Jim Harbaugh, aiming to start the season on a strong note.

Though the Chiefs last faced the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX and fell short of making history with three consecutive Super Bowl wins, their confidence remains intact. They weren’t able to make history this time around, but the atmosphere in Kansas City is, understandably, still positive.

As Kelce and Mahomes continue to share jokes, they both know that focus is required as they prepare for their next challenge on the field.
