Travis Kelce reacts angrily on the sidelines after a loss

The Super Bowl 2025 rematch ended in disappointment for Kansas City, with the Chiefs falling 20-17 to the Eagles on Sunday.

Travis Kelce, the 35-year-old tight end for the Chiefs, appeared visibly frustrated in a viral video captured just before halftime when Kansas City was ahead 10-7.

In the footage, Kelce is seen pounding his helmet and seemingly shouting, “I’m tired of this!”

While it’s unclear exactly what provoked his outburst, it seemed fitting given the game’s intensity.

Things took a turn for the worse for Kelce in the fourth quarter, where he missed a critical catch that allowed the Eagles to take a 20-10 lead shortly after.

A pass from quarterback Patrick Mahomes intended for Kelce was picked off by Eagles safety Andrew Mkuba.

After the interception, Kelce was seen pacing, clearly upset with himself.

At the press conference following the game, Mahomes took the blame, admitting that he threw the ball “too early.” He explained, “We got the defense we wanted. We were hoping they would play it [Cover] Zero, and I just released it a bit too soon. If I could have aimed it better, I think he might have made the catch and scored.”

Kelce’s fiancée, Taylor Swift, reportedly snuck into Arrowhead Stadium, but she wasn’t particularly visible during the Fox broadcast.

This recent loss follows a previous overwhelming defeat to Philadelphia, where they were decisively beaten 40-22 in the February 9 encounter.

Kelce had a modest performance in that Super Bowl, recording four catches for 39 yards, which led him to consider retirement during the offseason.

In a pre-game interview with Erin Andrews from Fox Sports, Kelce acknowledged the need to step up his game, reflecting on the pain of that Super Bowl loss.

Much of his offseason was spent training in Florida as he enters his 13th season.

Approaching his 36th birthday next month, Kelce had a strong 2024 season, racking up 823 yards and 97 receptions.

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid remarked to reporters that Kelce was in excellent shape at training camp, looking rejuvenated.

The Chiefs, now 0-2, will face off against the Giants, who also sit at 0-2, next Sunday at MetLife Stadium.
