Taylor Swift may be trying to do fantasy football players a favor by drafting Travis Kelce this year.

The Kansas City Chiefs star was referring to news revealed by Patrick Mahomes in an interview with NBC last week that Swift is writing the playbook for the team's offensive strategy.

Kelsey said in an interview on The Rich Eisen Show on Tuesday that Swift's plays are all centered around him.

“She's a little lopsided and just creates plays for me,” Kelsey said.

Kelce added that Swift's plays have yet to reach head coach Andy Reid's desk, but Kelce believes Swift is quick to understand how those plays work and didn't rule out the possibility of them being used by the Chiefs this season.

“She didn't know much about the rules and stuff, but I think the reason she excels in this profession is because she has such a detailed understanding of every aspect,” Kelsey said.

Kelsey added that if these plays make it to Reid's desk, “she's going to let everyone know that they're her creation.”

Mahomes expressed similar support for Swift's use of the play when he revealed on Aug. 30 that Swift had designed the play.

“Maybe we need to put one in,” Mahomes told NBC about the play.

The Chiefs have a history of incorporating dance elements into trick plays.

In the season finale against the Las Vegas Raiders on January 7, the Chiefs' offensive line, led by Mahomes and Kelce, came together after breaking the huddle, circled for a few seconds, then quickly regrouped to snap the ball. The play was dubbed the “snow globe” play.

In the 2020 Super Bowl LIV matchup against the 49ers, the Chiefs offense was in a full-house formation at the goal line for a crucial fourth-down play. Then all four players in the backfield were moving rhythmically through one spot, Mahomes was moving through one spot, and the ball was snapped to Damien Williams for a crucial first down and, ultimately, the Chiefs' first touchdown of the game.

Kelce took the snap in the 2021 wild-card playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers and threw his first career touchdown pass, then was the center of one of Kansas City's famous trick plays, quarterbacking the team for one play in place of Mahomes.

Coach Swift could take a lot of inspiration from Taysom Hill, the Saints' longtime utility tight end, if he wants to get Kelce to step in more and make passes for Mahomes on certain plays. Hill is registered as a tight end, but he has thrown 298 passes for the Saints since 2018. He has thrown for 2,348 yards with 11 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He's done so both as a trick play on offense and as the team's starter through nine games in 2020 and 2021.
