Chiefs general manager Brett Veach is all for the whirlwind romance between Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift.
During Wednesday’s performance “Morning Fesco” Speaking on Audacity’s 610 Sports Radio, Veach explained that the relationship between Kelce and Swift is not an impediment to the Chiefs’ pursuit of a second straight Super Bowl title.
“If I hadn’t been online, I wouldn’t have known he was dating Taylor Swift,” Veach said. “[He] We don’t talk about it, the players don’t talk about it.
“You’d think you’d hear the songs in practice and the players saying all that stuff about him, but there’s a lot of respect for each other in this locker room.”
The first time Swift attended the Chiefs’ 41-10 victory over the Chicago Bears at Arrowhead Stadium on September 24, Veach recalled, “There was a buzz in the building.”
“Honestly, after the first week or two, it’s never brought up, it’s never mentioned,” Veach said. “We only realize this when we’re looking at our phones during a TV timeout and remember that CBS is zooming in on Taylor and they’re together.
“But Travis is a straight-up professional and the players treat him that way.”
Veach also agreed with the hosts that it’s been “cool” to see their romance develop since they went public with their relationship in October.
The Chiefs GM said the two-time Super Bowl champion has “worked extremely hard over the last few months” in terms of taking care of his body, recovering and staying focused.
Kelce reiterated a similar message about staying focused amid the increased attention on his personal life when he spoke to the media this week at the 2024 Super Bowl.
Last month, Chiefs head coach andy reed said Kelce and Swift, both 34, said they “handled it right” and that their relationship was not a distraction.
Kelce was undergoing a thorough examination in preparation for Sunday’s big game between the reigning champion Chiefs and 49ers at Allegiant Stadium.

When asked, “If I win on Sunday, does that mean I’ll have another ring besides my Super Bowl ring?” Kelce replied: “I’m focused on getting this ring. That’s all I can think about right now.” According to the Sporting Tribune.
Kelce said his offseason plan is to “figure out exactly what I love and what I can pursue as a career.” [after football]However, I have no plans to retire yet.
Beach explained that he would be shocked if the rumors of his retirement were true.
“That’s not something I heard firsthand,” he said. “For what it’s worth, I wouldn’t buy anything like that at all. Maybe I don’t know anything, but I’d be more shocked than anyone – and I talk to the coaches every day. ”
The 2024 Super Bowl kicks off Sunday at 6:30pm ET.
