Travis Kelce's surprising request to the Chiefs management about Taylor Swift disclosed

Mark Donovan, the team president, mentioned that fans shouldn’t expect Taylor Swift’s music to be played during Kansas City Chiefs home games.

On the “Up & Adams” show, Donovan shared that Travis Kelce, the Chiefs’ tight end who got engaged to Swift in August, made it clear early on in their relationship that he preferred not to have her songs featured at Arrowhead Stadium.

“Travis really emphasizes being part of the team and keeping things focused on the game,” Donovan noted.

Kelce, who has openly expressed his affection for Swift’s music, even shared the stage with her at a concert last June. Donovan said from the outset, the organization wanted to respect their relationship.

“We chose not to show Taylor on the big screens in the stadium. It was a matter of respect. We don’t want to exploit this relationship,” he explained.

Donovan joked with Kelce that there were never any Taylor Swift songs played while she was in attendance.

Since their relationship became public in the summer of 2023, Swift has been seen at numerous Chiefs games and events with the three-time Super Bowl champion.

This season, however, Swift appears to be more private. After releasing her latest album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” on October 3, she has actively tried to avoid the spotlight when cheering for Kelce at games.

Swift missed the Chiefs’ recent game against the Cowboys, a close match that ended in a 31-28 loss. Last season, her appearances were limited to home games, and it seems this trend continues.

“Taylor has been wonderful for us,” Donovan remarked about her presence. “It’s all been very positive. She truly is a phenomenon, but also a genuinely kind person. I made it clear to Travis early on that we would treat his relationship with the same respect as any other player-coach relationship.”

Donovan has previously mentioned how Kelce approached him to ensure Swift’s safety during the games, illustrating the careful planning by both the Chiefs and Swift’s security details during their initial visit to the stadium.
