Travis Kelce Reacts to Taylor Swift’s New Song
Travis Kelce has given his seal of approval for his fiancée Taylor Swift’s new song “Wood.” Featured on her latest album, *The Life of a Showgirl*, fans speculate the track touches on the masculinity of the NFL star.
During a recent episode of the podcast “New Heights,” Travis, at 36, found himself laughing and bantering with his brother, Jason Kelce, a center for the Eagles.
“Are you confident about the song ‘Wood?’…it’s not just any song; it’s quite specific,” Jason, who is 37, remarked.
“No,” Travis responded but added it’s a “great” song. “The song she associates with me is so… I love that girl, so what does it even mean?”
Jason tried to tease Travis further, but he remained lighthearted about it.
“It’s not solely about you; there’s more to it. It’s very specific,” Jason argued.
Travis was insistent. “I don’t think you get the song. I really can’t believe it.” They both ended up sharing a chuckle when Jason began joking about his own masculinity.
Earlier in the podcast, Travis praised Swift’s new album and expressed how her songs reflect their lives together.
“Let’s give it up for Taylor. She did it again,” he said, as he and his brother lauded her talent. “It’s fantastic to see everyone’s reactions. We absolutely lit up seeing how her press tour went. She sounded amazing, and this album is incredible.”
“I enjoyed hearing it all come together, especially since some of those songs mirror our experiences… The way she speaks is just delightful,” he added.
Swift mentioned that her favorite song from the new album is “Opalite.” Just last week, listeners got their first taste of “Wood,” which stirred quite the buzz, being touted as possibly one of her most provocative songs yet.
This track features sexual undertones and daring lyrics that hint at deeper themes.
Swift, at 35, reflects a line: “My curse was broken by your magic wand.”
The song also makes references to various superstitions, including “Stepping on a Crack” and “Black Cat.”
While appearing on “The Tonight Show,” Swift shared with host Jimmy Fallon that she entered the studio aiming to craft a “timeless song” but ended up in a completely different place.
“I really don’t know what happened, honestly,” Swift laughed. “We started vibing, and I don’t— I’m not sure how we ended up here. But I adore this song.”
Meanwhile, Travis missed the Chiefs’ game on “Monday Night Football,” which ended in a close 31-28 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, as he participates in the promotional tour for *Showgirl Life*.
On another note, during her segment on “The Tonight Show,” Taylor gushed about a stunning engagement ring from Travis, who proposed in the backyard of a Missouri home in August.
The couple publicly announced their engagement on August 26th.
