Travis Vocolek Injured in Week 6 Game

During a Week 6 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts, Arizona Cardinals tight end Travis Vocolek suffered a serious neck injury. The incident occurred during a kickoff return when Vocolek attempted to block Colts linebacker Segun Olubi. Unfortunately, he ended the play lying flat on his back, unresponsive.

As teammates gathered around him, medical personnel quickly arrived to provide assistance. Some players kneeled in concern. Ultimately, Vocolek was transported off the field on a stretcher, though he managed to give a thumbs up as he was wheeled through one of the tunnels at Lucas Oil Stadium.

According to reports, he was conscious and could move all four limbs but was subsequently ruled out for the rest of the game.

Cardinals Triumph Over Colts

The third-year player had joined the Cardinals as an undrafted free agent in 2023 after a stint with the Baltimore Ravens. Previously, he played at Rutgers and Nebraska and has appeared in seven games throughout his career, with about 42% of his snaps coming from special teams this season.

In addition to Vocolek’s injury, fellow teammate Marvin Harrison Jr. also exited the game after suffering a concussion. His head appeared to hit the ground hard during a play.

The Cardinals, already dealing with some player injuries, were without Kyler Murray due to a foot issue, leaving Jacoby Brissett to start. On the Colts side, cornerback Charvarius Ward and quarterback Anthony Richardson sustained injuries during warmups.
