Treasury Secretary Scott Bescent said on Sunday that he would appoint a “affordable emperor” to tackle the height prices that will affect consumers by “facing the people” of CBS.

Margaret Brennan: I hear that data is sometimes lagging behind in reality, but when we talk about people's perceptions of the economy, that's what they feel right now, and in our polls, 52% of Americans say Trump's policies are raising grocery prices. They explicitly said on this bar chart that you can see there. So it's a matter of experience and perception. When will it shift? When you see the benefits of a plan that says you are ongoing?
Bessent: Look, I think President Trump said he'll own the economy in six or 12 months, but I can say we're working to lower these prices every day, but it took us four years to get here. This is a very good start to the affordable, automatic affordability of homes and we are working on this. The Ministry of Finance appoints an affordable emperor. We have an affordable council.
