U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bescent announced Thursday in an interview with Larry Kudrow about the Fox business that the US and Ukraine have signed a contract on strategic minerals, oil and gas in peace negotiations to end the war with Russia.
Not only did Bescent reveal that “a deal has been made,” but Ukrainian President Voldymir Zelensky would come to the White House to sign it.
“I went to Kiev two weeks ago and met with President Zelensky. Since then we have signed a contract. Their governing council approved this contract last night, so I have an agreement from their Minister of Economics, so the transaction is complete.” I said Bescent.
The Treasury Secretary added that Zelensky will be signing the contract “tomorrow.”
“President Zelensky is here to sign the contract tomorrow. There are no more negotiations,” he added. “There's nothing else. I'm sure President Zelensky and President Trump will have a wider discussion, but as for the deal, it's complete, it's on paper, and the Ukrainian government has approved it. We're just waiting for the signing of the two state chiefs tomorrow. This is a contract on strategic minerals, oil and gas, and infrastructure assets.”
Bescent described the deal as a “winner” for the people of Ukrainians, the US, the American business community, and American voters.
“It's a real victory. It connects the people of Ukrainians with the American business community in close sync. It shows the people of America that it's here for them,” he said. “We're not wasting money because Americans are always worried about intervention overseas.”
Bescent concluded that President Donald Trump made history by building assets for Americans rather than debt.
